A MONSTER IN GYM

Ready: Mike Tyson looked like he could compete at his age  as fears grow for Jake Paul

By Sports Reporter

Mike Tyson, at 58, may not have a lot to do to convince fans he can still be a force in boxing, judging by another short clip uploaded by the former heavyweight king.

Tyson posted two videos, one from the Catskill gym his old trainer built and another recent effort working on his enormous neck and back muscles. Some detractors failed to realize that the Catskill one, with Tyson sporting a beard, was not new.

The neck muscle flex, however, was brand new and showed off Tyson’s unreal back muscles. Tyson looked mean and moody in it, ready to take Jake Paul’s head off. Worryingly for Paul, the second clip was the first time Mike looked like he could compete at his age.

While Jake keeps talking, I’m going to keep training.  Paul holds a 31-year advantage over Tyson, who is attempting to roll back the years on November 15 in an eight-round professional contest. The AT&T Stadium event will be broadcast on Netflix, and Tyson could be exposed if he’s not extremely careful.

The first clip saw Tyson holding a New York session with youngsters and not in the same shape he is today. Tyson continues to give back to the kids for a new YouTube series.  “A boy comes to me with a spark of interest. I feed the spark and it becomes a flame.” – Cus D’Amato. Honored to keep his legacy burning bright in Catskill.  Speaking recently with Tennis star Nick Kyrgios, Tyson discussed his beginnings and how his personality has changed.

“I started out like that [selfishly]. I was wearing the same clothes and the same s*** every day, but I realized this too in life. When you don’t have something in life and want something in life, and once you get it, you don’t want it anymore. You know, like the houses and the cars.

“Well, that’s who I am. You know, I was born. I was a happy kid. Then something happened, and that’s what happened to all of us. And that turns us into who we are today.”  Tyson walked into Cus D’Amato’s gym as a teenage prodigy, dreaming of making it big. Mike Tyson was undoubtedly the Baddest Man on the Planet for four years. On his day, there are serious thoughts that Mike could have taken any of the best heavyweights of all time out in seconds, genuinely.

He was that good on one particular night against Michael Spinks. If that had been prime Muhammad Ali or Joe Louis, no boxing expert could wholeheartedly state with one hundred percent confidence that Tyson wouldn’t have knocked either of them out early. That was the kind of ferociousness Tyson brought to the table before his career fell off. Sadly, he’s only a shell of that now and is being exploited for kudos by a YouTuber.

Hopefully, Mike can pull it out of the bag one last time. However, at 58, it’s a tall order.-worldboxingnews.net
