JOBURG’S POPULAR PREMIER BUBBLY EVENT RETURNS

Bubbly lovers in chic wear are expected to show up in droves at the Johannesburg Cap Classique, Champagne and Bubbles Festival 2024, which returns to its usual venue at Sandton’s Inanda Polo Club on May 17 and 18.

 This year wine calendar event be held over two days for the first time ,  from 18h00 to 22h00 on Friday (May 17) and from 11h00 to 16h00 (May 18). Bubbly aficionados will immerse themselves in the finest Cap Classiques from South Africa, Champagnes from France and Proseccos from Italy at this glamorous affair where every sip is a celebration of life’s luxurious moments.

Tickets, costing R450 per person via Webtickets, include a welcome glass of chilled bubbly; tastings of all the bubblies on display; a harvest table from By Word of Mouth caterers; access to the top winemakers to learn about the artistry and passion that goes into each bottle of their bubbly; live music from Veronique Lalouette whose soulful melodies will serenade you as the sun sets; and a DJ and saxophonist to kick the party into high gear.

Opulent decor, from crystal chandeliers to velvet drapes will be the backdrop for an elegant evening you won’t forget. Only 350 fortunate few will share this magical evening and each guest will receive two-bottles of award-winning Cap Classique as a parting gift. Dress code is Sophisticated Chic. Tickets cost R2 250 per personn from Webtickets.

On Saturday, bubbly romantics can still enjoy a daytime soiree in the afternoon surrounded by all things bubbly as you immerse yourself in a sensory journey, sampling delicate Italian Proseccos, bold South African Cap Classiques and elegant champagnes from France.

Your ticket will include a souvenir crystal glass & 15 tasting coupons and there will be live music from the very talented Veronique Lalouette followed by a DJ and saxophonist to get you grooving on the dance floor. Dress code is Sophisticated Floral Chic. There are only 800 tickets available at a cost of R450 per person.

CEDERBERG IN JOZI

Wine lovers will experience the vibrant spirit of Rio in Johannesburg at Cederberg Wines’ Harvest Celebration on Friday evening on April 10.

The winery will showcase the essence of Cederberg Cellar’s harvest 2024 and take guests on a wine journey by cellarmaster David Nieuwoudt and team.

The ambience at the Harvest Carnival at Mamasamba in Rosebank will be Rio de Janeiro-style to enhance the evening for guests who will be swigging Cederberg & Ghost Corner Wines (including taking a sneak peek into what 2024 harvest holds with tank and barrel samples) and tucking into a feast of food prepared by the chefs at Mamasamba, all while being entertained by live music and samba dancers throughout the night.

Tickets are priced at R850 per person.

WINES OF COLOUR

WineofcolourSA Food & Wine Show is gearing to give Gauteng wine lovers an unforgettable experience when it opens doors at Silverstar Casino in Krugersdorp on April 6 and 7.

This two-day event will showcase the best in wine and food from around South Africa. On offer will be a selection of exquisite wines and delicious food from some of the country’s best winemakers and chefs.

Relax and take in the atmosphere of the show as you sip on your favourite tipple and sample the delights of the local cuisine.  An array of entertainment to enjoy including live music and performances is lined up.

Taste a selection of the best wines and food while enjoying performances from some of the country’s best artists. Tickets cost R100 to R300 a person. The show starts at 11am.

Discover a world of award-winning wines & delicious food at the Pick n Pay Wine & Food Festival at the Western Province Cricket Club in Rondebosch on April 27 and 28.

Discover a world of award-winning wines and celebrate the finer things in life at the Pick n Pay Wine & Food Festival. Sniff, swirl and sample wines from top local wine estates while socialising with friends to the sounds of local live music in a chic, relaxed environment.

A Pick n Pay Tasting Room will host food-and-wine pairing demonstrations.

Chefs and winemakers will share personal picks from various estates, and pair them with canapés in a tasting masterclass.

PINO & BILTONG

 The popular Pinotage & Biltong Fest 2024 will showcase two of SA’s best loved treats true to local heritage at the Rhebokskloof Wine Estate, Noord-Agter Paarl Road, Windmeul on April 27 and 28.

On offer will be plenty of Pinotage in a range of fizz, white, red, rosé, dry and sweet styles, each paired with a different biltong flavour.

Apart from the many delicious biltong flavours by Jansen Pure Beef to be paired with all the Pinotage styles. Live entertainment with groovy music.

Regular Tickets – R370 per person, includes wine glass, all wine and biltong pairings, entrance to the festival, live entertainment, wine and biltong pairing card.

Dedicated Driver Tickets – R270 per person – includes entrance to the festival, live entertainment, a biltong card and all biltong tastings.

MBOMBELA’S WINE FAIR

Unwined Food and Wine Show makes its annual return to Mpumalanga’s Mbombela Golf Club, Mbombela on May 4. The event will showcase the best of South African wines. By bypassing intermediaries, the organisers empower both wine enthusiasts and vintners, forging a direct connection that celebrates the artistry of winemaking.

On April 30, the Fancy Fijnwyn will offer an evening of rustic elegance for Pretoria wine lovers  who love the outdoors, featuring fine wine and cuisine.

 The venue is 99 Luiperd Street Tiegerpoort, Pretoria East, the event starts at 16h00. Tickets cost R450 a person.

Nestled in the heart of nature, this exclusive wine market invites local revellers to immerse themselves in an intimate gathering under the open sky.
