“There can be no greater gif than that of giving ones time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return”  Nelson Mandela

This day is aimed at raising funds to secure mountain bikes for underprivileged scholars, to ensure their safe passage to school, keep them off the streets and promote health and wellness within the communities.  And with the attendance of participants, we hope to raise a sizable amount to fulfil the ministers passion of donating these bicycles to the children in December this year.

From amateur riders to professional cyclists, the Ronald Lamola Leeuwkop MTB Challenge is a pre-entry event aimed at participants of all ages who are looking to get fit, challenge themselves, raise awareness and be part of raising funds for a worthy cause while having fun in a safe environment with their families and friends.  There is a 5km, 10km and a 30km MTB trail and a brand new 5km Trail Run that will take off on the morning of the 28 November. Start times will be published on social media.

The event aims to cater for approximately 500 participants on the day and as an outdoor event, all COVID regulations will be strictly observed. Sanitising stations will be available at the start finish as well as accredited mobile food trucks, that meet the necessary health and safety regulations. Attendees will be required to wear masks in all public areasand the day will end with a prize-giving ceremony.

Minister Ronald Lamola encourages individuals and corporates to get behind the Leeuwkop Leeuwkop MTB Challenge 2021, and make the decision to go the extra mile and cycle for change.
