CONSISTENCY: Coach Nabi satisfied with winning start at Chiefs

Amakhosi’s next assignment is a trip to Durban to face AmaZulu on 25 September. This was the fifth league game between the teams and it was Chiefs’ second win against Marumo Gallants, with the others ending in draws.

 Chiefs are the first team in this fixture to win away from home. Chiefs attempted 23 shots at goal in this game, and had eight on target. Their opponents had one shot on target.

 Chiefs last had at least eight shots on target in a league game in the 2022/23 season, when they had nine against Royal AM on 29 January, 2023.

 Chiefs are starting their 29th PSL era league season, and win for the 16th time on the opening day. .Kaizer Chiefs’ second assignment of the 2024/25 Betway season is another away fixture, against AmaZulu FC in Durban on Wednesday night.

 The two teams had opposing emotions in their opening fixtures on the road as Chiefs won their game 2-1 against Marumo Gallants at a sold-out Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, while AmaZulu lost away to Polokwane City by a similar scoreline.

The two teams have met 44 times in the PSL era which started in 1996/97 and Amakhosi hold a sway having won 26 matches, with AmaZulu claiming 5 victories, while 13 clashes were drawn.

Amakhosi will use the next few days to prepare for this exciting encounter that will take place after Heritage Day. Coach Nasreddine Nabi will be hoping no more players are added to the injury list, which includes Edmilson Dove and George Matlou, going into second game at the helm

The 45th meeting between Usuthu and Amakhosi will take place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Wednesday, 25 September, kickoff set for 19:30.
