RETRO STYLE: Made for lovers of freedom and nature who want their independence while at the same time being mindful of their budget

The concept of camper vans is arguably at its nascent stage in South Africa but with the new Citroen Type Holidays van a huge switch to this mode of transport is imminent.

From a brand which prides itself as at the forefront of pomoting freedom of movement,Citroën has chosen to present its Type Holidays van at the Düsseldorf Caravan Show, one of the world’s leading leisure vehicle events, set to run this year from August 25 to September 3.

The concept combines the iconic Citroën Type H with the more modern SpaceTourer, resulting in an interior arrangement that will soon be available across the Citroën network, through a range that will be called “Holidays”.

Citroën is the second largest supplier of motorhome-based vehicles in Europe and wanted to showcase this heritage by presenting a SpaceTourer vehicle in the guise of a Type H, based on the work of Italian coachbuilder Caselani.

This loyal Citroën partner has already created a number of “neo-retro” body styles for Citroën models. So with a vehicle like the Type Holidays teaser that really stands out from the crowd, Citroen says you’re in for a real treat.

It can go practically anywhere – it is less than 2 m high – which means it can fit into car parks (in town as well as at the beach) and be used on a day-to-day basis, all year round.

The Citroën Type Holidays offers all the advantages of the Citroën SpaceTourer: spaciousness, comfort, quiet operation, two sliding side doors for easy access and ventilation, an independently opening tailgate window, and more. Everything that up to four people might need to get away from it all.

Citroën has called on one of the world’s leading specialists to kit out the van: Bravia Mobil. This Slovenian company gave the Citroën Type Holidays all the equipment needed for an ideal travel experience:

A pop-up roof that allows you to stand upright in the living space inside the Citroën Type Holidays and which houses a large bed to accomodate two people in night mode.

AMBIENCE: A two-row bench seat that opens up to form a comfortable two-person bed. And this bench seat is completely re- movable to free up storage space. Two front seats that swivel round towards the living area of the vehicle

Two front seats that swivel round towards the living area of the vehicle. A complete kitchenette (cooking area, sink, fridge) A folding table for dining or working, and several cupboards for storing your belongings. A Webasto heating system to ensure optimum temperature on board.

With its retro exterior and modern interior, the Citroën Type Holidays teaser promises a distinctive travelling experience.

Whichever way you look at it, it’s the ideal companion for a stylish getaway in total freedom!

Stellantis SA has not confirmed if the newcomer will be making its way to our shores anytime soon, but one thing certain;

I want one.

FIREBALL CRASH

TWO people have died after a Rolls-Royce crashed into the back of an oil tanker in India. The Rolls-Royce was driving at a speed of around 120mph before hitting the back of the oil tanker carrying three passengers, Indian media outlets reported.

BENTLEY GIVES THAT NEW CAR SMELL

Bentley announced it made a new fragrance for men which is said to be inspired by the British luxury car brand’s Blackline models which come with blacked-out details instead of the usual chrome trim.

Officially called Bentley For Men Black Edition, the new masculine perfume comes in a sharp monochrome bottle that resembles a tailored tuxedo, designed to reflect the lines and curves of a Bentley, the company says.

With heavy black glass, the bottle also features discrete silver-white stripes, polished silver metal shoulders embossed with the car maker’s logo, and a silver cap ringed with Bentley’s signature knurling that’s present in the interior of all its cars.

Designed by master perfumer Dorothée Piot, Bentley’s black-themed fragrance is described by the Crewe-based luxury vehicle makers as cutting-edge gravitas, lending the wearer a scent that is both purposeful and enigmatic.
