The Township Economy Summit, now in its 10th year, convened for a week-long deliberations in Soweto – climaxed by the attendance and keynote speech by Deputy Small Business Development Minister Jane Sithole at SUD Restaurant in Orlando West on Monday. The indaba serves as a platform to drive sustainable economic growth within South Africa’s township communities.
A highlight, Sithole officially declared the establishment of “the Township Economy Day”, marking a significant step towards empowering local economies within South Africa’s townships. The occasion was attended by – among other delegates – influential leaders and stakeholders from both public and private sectors, Bheki “Ma Events” Twala, president of TECSA, which hosted the conference.
