Its all systems go for the Insurance Skills Indaba 2025 scheduled for the Gallagher Estate from March 19 – 20.

Hosted by the Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority, INSETA, the event with the theme “A Responsive Disruption Through Skills Innovation”, will offer a collaborative environment for thought leaders, educators, professionals, and policymakers to discuss actionable strategies for developing and reforming insurance education and training in alignment with the current economic pressures.

The event also promises to be a critical catalyst for creating actionable, forward-thinking strategies that will allow the insurance industry to embrace disruption, innovate for the future, and collaborate for collective success.

As Gugu Mkhize, CEO of INSETA explains: “The insurance sector is at a critical juncture, where embracing the digital transformation is no longer optional but imperative for ensuring long-term viability and relevance. At INSETA, we believe that an industry-driven curriculum overhaul, in response to the digitisation of the financial services sector, is key to ensuring that South Africa’s future workforce is prepared and empowered.”

“ISI2025 will serve as a pivotal platform for all stakeholders to engage in meaningful dialogue, identify new opportunities, and establish sustainable collaborations that will shape the future of insurance in the digital age,” adds Mkhize. Industry players also concede that as businesses and employees face retrenchments amid an unemployment crisis, it is important to enter an era where technological innovation is at the forefront of business transformation to enable a skilled and adaptive workforce that can drive change, resilience, and sustainable growth within the insurance sector.

To disrupt the youth unemployment crisis, the education and training systems must be reformed to produce a new generation of professionals who can leverage these innovations to build future-proof, inclusive, and customer-centric insurance solutions.
