The inaugural Miss Cosmo 2024 international pageant, held in Vietnam a fortnight ago, was a dazzling display of beauty and talent, featuring nearly 60 contestants who impressed the judges with their evening gowns, swimsuits and intellect.
The pageant, in which Miss Cosmo South Africa 2024 Lebohang Raputsoe (pictured) also participated, is geared at honouring outstanding women with intelligence, beauty, perseverance, and inner strength, but it also provides an opportunity to them to promote and commemorate each country’s national pride and identity.
“We are confident that our vision and mission will contribute to creating a world of equality, positivity and unity,” say the pageant’s organisers in their mission statement.
The statuesque Raputsoe recently returned home from Vietnam spending 30 unforgettable days in the Asian country. Throughout her participation, she embodied the spirit of South African excellence, ultimately securing a spot in the Top 21 against over 50 candidates representing various countries such as Thailand, Philippines, China, Venezuela, Indonesia, United States of America, Zimbabwe, Italy to name a few.
Upon arrival in Vietnam, she immersed herself in the rich Vietnamese culture, exploring historic landmarks and learning about the country’s resilient history, having arrived a few days after Vietnam was hit by a devastating hurricane, and later visited those the affected communities with other contestants, contributing over $500,000 (R8,7m) and food parcels.
One of the pageant’s highlights was the National Costume Show, where Lebohang proudly showcased South Africa’s vibrant heritage. Her stunning outfit, designed by Hollywood Costumes, represented a South African Diamond, symbolising the country’s precious beauty and resilience.
Raputsoe added:”I was honoured to wear Tan Le’s exquisite designs, which perfectly captured the essence of elegance and sophistication.”
