STATUS: Two coaches in charge of team before Bloem Celtic acquisition left in the lurch
By Masoja Cele
There have been more controversies in the Royal AM club in recent times. From marathon court battles with the Premier Soccer League to racist comments at high court judge Roland Sutherland and recently distributing stash of cash to her playing personnel in public.
Now, two Royal AM coaches are incensed with rage after allegedly received a raw transaction from their flamboyant boss Shauwn ‘’Mamkhize’’ Mkhize. The dualistic trainers, Serame ‘’ Paradise ‘’ Moeketsi and Postnet Ormony feel their coaching credentials are being disrespected by the Royal AM chief, Mkhize. Moeketsi was AM assistant coach while Ormony was goalkeeper instructor. According to Moeketsi, after producing excellent performance during the 2020/21 season in the GladAfrica Championship League, were made to believe that they were to renew their contracts for 2021/22 season.
‘’ After winning promotion to the DStv Premier League with Royal AM, the chairlady promised to retained Omony, Sazi Ngubane and myself as technical members of the team for 2021/22 season’’ says Moeketsi’’. ‘’In the twist of events, when Sekhukhune United was awarded the rights to play in the top league, after having won their protest against Polokwane City, Royal AM decided to challenge that decision in the court of law. And during those court battles between the Premier Soccer League and Royal AM, we were advised to keep the team active.
We trained and play friendlies during that process to keep our players fit’’. However, things changed when AM acquired the status of Bloemfontein Celtic. Siwelele arrived with its technical team and players. Firstly, the chairlady told us to be patient with the process as she wants to assess the performance of the new coaching staff.
Reluctantly, we obliged to her request. We step aside and watched afar from the surroundings. The scenario has now turn more ugly as we were not paid for the September month’’ added Moeketsi.
The worst pain about this matter was when Sazi Ngubane was assigned to work with the MDC, while I and Ormony were left in the cold. When Weekly SA Mirror brought this matter into the attention of the Royal AM boss Mkhize, she was evasive and refuted the claims. ‘’My team doesn’t owe no one any money. All players and technical staff that are contracted to my team have been paid their salaries.
Remember, Royal AM was sold to Limpopo and named Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila. Evidently, when I sold the team to Limpopo businessman, it was a package’’ revealed Mkhize. ‘’Meaning the Royal AM technical team and other players should have gone with the deal.
When I acquired the status of Bloemfontein Celtic it involved the players and the coaching team. That is the reason why I still have the Siwelele technical staff at my team’’ concluded Mkhize.
