The long-awaited opening of The Dome, located next to the FNB Stadium, takes place on February 10.
The Dome is geared to become the centre for entertainment, live music and many other shows. It is already booked for a major attraction – a concert by the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Tems, who has announced South African sensation Elaine as a special guest on her “Born In The Wild Tour” on March 20.
Elaine will be joining the tour as a special guest to perform her chart-topping hits with her sensational voice.
Tems is a globally acclaimed Nigerian singer-songwriter known for her rich, soulful voice and genre-defying sound that fuses Afrobeat, R&B, and neo-soul. Rising to prominence with her feature on Wizkid’s Grammy-nominated hit Essence, she has since earned widespread recognition, including a Grammy Award and collaborations with global icons like Drake and Beyoncé. With her powerful storytelling and unique artistry, Tems continues to shape the global music scene and inspire a new generation of African talent.
“Partnering with Tems for this highly anticipated concert is a momentous occasion for us,” said Monde Twala, general manager of Paramount Africa. He said they were always eager to support and showcase African artists shaping the future of music.
“This concert represents the power of music to connect us all, and we’re thrilled to be a part of this unforgettable experience,” said Twala.
Elaine, a local R&B powerhouse, has broken continental boundaries with her Platinum debut EP, Elements, and the multi-platinum hit You’re The One.
Known for her soulful voice and innovative artistry, she became the first female independent artist to top the Apple Music Sub-Saharan African charts and has earned numerous accolades, including BET and AFRIMMA awards. In October 2024, Elaine cemented her trailblazing status with Stone Cold Heart, a visual album that debuted at number 1 across genres and R&B.
The Show is proudly brought to South Africa by Big Concerts, an entertainment hub founded in 1989 and which has produced live entertainment events for over 300 artists, theatre productions, and sports presentations since its inception. It is powered by YFM and MTV Base.
The company is the only African promoter to feature on the Pollstar list of Top 100 promoters and has on numerous occasions been voted the top live entertainment company in South Africa. Y is a radio station which speaks to the young adult market in Gauteng. The station is known as the capital of youth culture.
