Southern Sun, the hospitality partner of the Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards since 2018, last weekend hosted the first of the two inaugural wine tasting events featuring top wines from the 2022 edition of the annual awards.
Held at Joburg’s Southern Sun Rosebank Hotel, the Michelangelo Wine Tasting event provided droves of wine lovers with a rare opportunity to sample a selection of award-winning wines and spirits and to meet the winemakers and producers behind the brands. The second event will be held in Durban at Garden Court uMhlanga on May 26 and 27.
If the Joburg turnout is anything to go by, which was rather impressive, the Michelangelo tastings are set to become a much-awaited calendar affair, given the pedigree of South African wine brands featured and the fact that the winners are selected by a respected panel of international and local judges.
These renowned cellars and distilleries will exhibit not only their award-winning produce, but also their extended ranges of delightful wines and spirits, offering guests over 100 wines, spirits, MCC and other sublime creations.
