The One is a talk show about people finding life-changing breaks or opportunities which they leveraged to build to become what they are today.
Mokwele says Season One was the easiest for him as he knew the calibre of people he wanted to host, adding that the show does not only host the famous it’s for every African with a story worth telling.
With over 30 years in the entertainment industry, T-Bose is renowned for his charismatic storytelling and deep connection with audiences. Now, as host and co-executive producer alongside executive producer Mapaseka Mokwele, he brings his signature style to television, offering in-depth conversations with South Africa’s most influential figures.
This two-part series, consisting of 26 episodes, is co-produced by T-Bose Productions, and Kohlective Films. It will feature icons from various fields, including business, music, and academia. Confirmed guests include Prof Mamokgethi Phakeng, Mogau Seshoene (Lazy Makoti), Black Coffee and Skhumba Hlophe, with music seamlessly integrated into the show as a storytelling element.
“The One is about great conversation with a bit of music. It’s a platform to explore the journeys that have shaped South Africa’s most influential figures, using their stories.
“The One is about great conversation with a bit of music. It’s a platform to explore the journeys that have shaped South Africa’s most influential figures, using their stories and the power of music to inspire and connect with our audience,” says Mokwele.
“The debut episode kicks off with Grammy-winning producer and entrepreneur Zakes Bantwini, who shares his journey from local to international success with the power of music to inspire and connect with our audience”.
Shirley Adonisi, channel Director at Multichoice, says that when they look for content they consider the audience now and in the future based on the current issues affecting the country. The team also wants to showcase culture languages and is made to open peoples’ mindset to be proud of their origin. “We look for authenticity and working with Mokwele was intentional as we previously did a My Top 10 show with him previously,” said Adonisi.
“Mzansi Magic is on a journey to have its own original content and it will take some time”.
