Following the reinstatement of the annual purge, coupled with the high surges of racial supremacy and nativism nationwide, the country finds itself on the brink of chaos.
A sentiment arising from many people believing the resurgence of the purge will cause untold damage, far beyond what anyone could have expected. Worse still lead to a break down in society.
All hell breaks loose as a group of extremist purge fanatics. They decide that the purge day held annually, isn’t enough. That instead of it ending at dawn, the purge should last indefinitely. Hence the title: The Forever Purge.
The anarchists’ plan is to take over the whole of America through violence and terror. They are determined to force the country to once again endure the horror of purge night. Only this time around with no time limit, and fewer places to hide.
The events in the movie are focused primarily in Texas. That’swhere Adela (Ana de la Renguera) and her husband Juan (Tenochi Huerta) who are Mexican immigrants, live. Juan works on the wealthy Tucker family’s Ranch as a farmhand. After getting praises from the Tucker family’s patriarch, Caleb (Will Paton), Juan incurs jealousy from Caleb’s son Dylan ( Josh Lucas) over his father’s seemingly favortism especially of an outsider.
Things get worse when a group of armed anarchists posing as farmhands, attack on the morning after “The Purge”. Caleb sacrifices himself to save his family. He’s unexpectedly helped by Juan.
The country spirals into chaos as the anarchists in an effort to “right” the “wrongs” they’ve been dealt, lead a vicious assault on all foreigners. They feel that they are the ones to blame for the economy’s current state.
The United States begins to disintegrate. Meantime Juan alongside Dylan and the rest of the Tucker family are forced to band together. As they fight, Juan searches for his wife while trying to find a safe place to wait out the purge.
This installment of ithe series is a little different from its predecessors. While it still maintains the standard of past purge movies, it sets itself apart by incorporating real life social issues. It also gives one first hand experience of life in America as an immigrant. The message it tries to get across can be interpreted to be over bearing. It however doesn’t take away from the solid performances delivered by the cast.
So if you’re a sucker for a good story line coupled with impressive acting and some horror, then this one comes highly recommended
