Twenty years ago, four businessmen – all friends bonded by their common appreciation for the finer things in life – joined hands to create a premium wine label to match their appetite for epicurean adventure. And so was born their wine, Epicurean, as a monument to their gastronomic streak.
The four were businessmen Mutle Mogase, Mbhazima Shilowa, Moss Ngoasheng and US-born Ron Gault, who has since left the country, leaving his three friends to continue their journey to epicurean pilgrimage. To mark the 20th anniversary, they feted friend and associate at Joburg’s ultra-posh Saxon Hotel with a flotilla of stunning vintages underscoring their uncompromising knack for quality, finesse and penchant for Bordeaux-styled reds.
