WATERFORD’S WINE AND CUISINE EXPERIENCE

A Waterford Estate is hosting a curated wine and food experience on March 22 at its picturesque farm perched against the backdrop of the Helderberg Mountains in Stellenbosch.

The family-owned wine estate is renowned for its elegant cabernet sauvignons grown on the prime slopes.

Guests will be regaled with colourful stories that make the estate tick, including enjoying excellent wine and food; meeting cellarmaster Mark Le Roux and his winemaking team. The experience, costing R2 450 a person, is limited to 10 guests

Chef’s Craig Cormack and Beau Du Toit will curate a culinary artistry, incorporating different types of salts and salting techniques from all around the world.

The estate boasts rich diversity of our indigenous fauna and flora, which can be discovered through the Porcupine Trail Wine Walk.

Pretoria Summer Beer Fest

The annual Pretoria Beer Festival is back once again at Hazeldean Calf Shed on March 23.

WortHog brewers have been hard at work to bring you an amazing selection of the very best home-brewed beers. These include lagers, pilsners, Belgian styles, British ales, IPAs, sour beers, imperial stouts.

A ticket gets you festival entry, a branded Worthog’s glass and unlimited tasting until the taps run dry. The venue is situated right next to Hazeldean Brewery. Tickets cost R150 available via Quicket . The event starts 10am and will last until 5pm.

SOWETO SPIRITS FEST

Spirit Fest SA will take place at one of Soweto’s hottest hospitality venues, Disoufeng Pub & Restaurant, in Zone 10, Meadowlands on March 30.

Tickets cost R100 and R300. The show starts at 11am. #SpiritFest is about celebrating the world’s best spirits! Join the fun at Disoufeng Pub for a local and global showcase of premium spirit brands in the heart of Soweto.

Pretoria Gin Fest

Gin lovers are expected to arrive large numbers for the Schweppes Pretoria Gin Festival, which takes place at the elegant Fire & Wine venue on March 23.

Guests can expect some of the finest gin in the country, amazing food trucks and live music. Organisers promise a bigger and better event this year. The event starts at 12noon and will last until 10pm. Fire & Wine Venue is situated on Plot 43, R631, Zawelpoort, Pretoria East.

Tickets costing R240 a personincludes a complimentary gin cocktail on arrival. Camp chairs and picnic blankets welcome.

WINE OF COLOUR FEST

 WineofcolourSA Food & Wine Show is gearing to give Gauteng wine lovers an unforgettable experience when it opens doors at Silverstar Casino in Krugersdorp on April 6 and 7.

This two-day event will showcase the best in wine and food from around South Africa. On offer will be a selection of exquisite wines and delicious food from some of the country’s best winemakers and chefs.

Relax and take in the atmosphere of the show as you sip on your favourite tipple and sample the delights of the local cuisine. With an array of entertainment to enjoy including live music and performances, this is sure to be an event to remember.

Highlights: Taste a selection of the best wines and food from around South Africa; performances from some of the country’s best artists; a vibey atmosphere of the show; and discovering new wines and food from local winemakers and chefs. Tickets cost R100 to R300 a person. The show starts at 11am.

DURBS FEST’S RARE VIBE PROMISE

The Durban Wine Festival heads to Richard Bay for the first time ever to provide a rare experience to the wine lovers in the coastal KwaZulu-Natal town on March 31.

The legendary Wine Wednesdays is presenting the province’s biggest wine at the iconic Zula Beach, along with a prime selection of wines, food, best Djs and live music.

Zula Beach Richards Bay is situated at Anchors Cast Building, Bridgetown Road, Tuzigazi. Tickets cost R100 and R700.

GROOTE POST FOR JOZI

On March 20, Cape’s west coast vineyards – Groote Post – will make a beeline for Gauteng later this month to host an evening of wine tasting at Joburg’s landmark Rand Club, from 7pm.

Groote Post, owned by the Nic Pentz family, is a historic 18th century farm in Darling. The area boasts unique and cool climatic conditions of the Darling Hills, which yield good fruit.

The wine tasting at the Rand Club’s main bar will be hosted by Peter Pentz from Groote Post. The tasting is free for members, R200 for non-members. Tickets available via Quicket
