ICON: Global stars pitted against local icons to light up stage, with food traders making a kill

Eight-time Grammy Award legend Lauryn Hill, with Wyclef Jean on tow, will celebrate in part her The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 25th Anniversary Tour.
This form part of The DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival powered by LottoStar at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.
Jean is a Haitian rapper and singer who emigrated to the United States as a child.
Ziggy Marley, the son of the late reggae star, Bob Marley, will be another attraction.
The event is pencilled for September 20 and 21.
It is the highlight of the country’s cultural calendar, with global stars and local icons expected to light up the stage, with top food traders serving everything from street-style bites to gourmet creations.
The organisers have warned that September 20 and 21 “are dates that are not too far off, and are in fact around the corner, and so festival-lovers must brace themselves for “two great days of joy and merriment never before experienced in their lifetime?
The festival will also feature, among others, Joyous Celebration Rewind, Idols South Africa, and Khaya Mthethwa, a well-known South African singer, songwriter, musician, composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist.
South African Music Awards Award-winning Mandisi Dyantyis accompanied by Zoë Modiga, a recipient of the Glamour’s Woman of the Year Award, will form part of the event specially crafted for the connoisseurs who enjoy good things of life.
One of South Africa’s favourite songstress, Lira, continue to make a triumphant return to the stage after suffering a stroke that rendered her speechless and unable to write or read.
There will be a lot for the audience to be excited about. The effects of the event will be “intoxicating”, keeping a throng of festival-goers on their toes.
The occasion will bring to the fore events that celebrate culture, the spirit of unity, and diversity – attributes that are part of the country’s professed ubuntu.
