In a compelling convergence of music, purpose, and innovation, internationally acclaimed DJ and producer Black Coffee has partnered with Lepas, an automotive initiative under Chery South Africa, to drive meaningful change in underserved communities.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone in Black Coffee’s long-standing philanthropic journey through the Black Coffee Foundation—a vision that began as a deeply personal mission and has now grown into a structured force for social change. Speaking at the launch, Black Coffee reflected on the humble beginnings of his foundation: “I started this foundation as one man. Now we have grown into a team. My vision was to give access to food banks and support primary to secondary education in eMthatha.”
What began as a grassroots effort focused on food security and education has now evolved into a broader, more inclusive mission. With Lepas joining forces, the foundation is expanding its reach—particularly in addressing mobility challenges faced by persons living with disabilities, including those who are visually impaired.
JJ, CEO of Chery South Africa, commended the initiative: “We are proud to stand alongside a multi-award-winning global sensation who continues to pour back into his community. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to education, upliftment and inclusive mobility.”
Lepas is bringing accessibility to the forefront through innovative vehicle solutions aimed at restoring dignity and independence.
The partnership was unveiled in an intimate afternoon setting, attended by close friends, collaborators, and key figures who have supported Black Coffee’s journey. Among those present were Bontle Modiselle, DJ Maphorisa, and Fikile Mbalula, alongside various sponsors and stakeholders.
Adding a personal and elegant touch to the occasion, Black Coffee’s current partner, Venezuelan model and influencer Victoria Gonzalez, was also in attendance—standing beside him as he steps into a new decade of life.
Legacy beyond music
As Black Coffee enters his 50th year, this initiative signals more than celebration—it marks intention. A deliberate shift toward legacy-building, focused on creating an ecosystem that nurtures young minds, removes systemic barriers, and opens pathways to opportunity.
By integrating education, accessibility, and community upliftment, the partnership between Black Coffee and Lepas is not simply charitable but also transformative.
In a world often driven by personal success, this moment reflects something deeper: a return to purpose, to people, and to building something that will outlive the individual.
