Family and friends bade a dignified and sad farewell to actor and director Shona Ferguson on Wednesday. The amiable Botswana-born soap heartthrob died from Covid-related complications.
Confined to family and close friends only in line with Covid-19 regulations, the funeral started with a service at the Ferguson home in
Ruimsig, Roodepoort in the morning. Thereafter the cortege drove by the Ferguson’s offices and some of the properties, as is often done culturally, and passed throngs of fans and fellow actors lining the streets as a guard of honour.
Ferguson was buried at the Fourways cemetery, where a moving letter from the love of his life, Connie, was read. It was a declaration of love be- yond the grave. – Gugu Sibiya.
