ACTORS MASTER CLASSES AT THE MARKET THEATRE

Highly acclaimed actors Warren Masemola and Monageng Motshabi will offer a series of master classes at the Market Theatre’s Laboratory.

Kicking off on July 5 to 8, the classes are aimed at professional actors. The plan is to inject life, rejuvenate or hone their skills, thus taking their eventful careers to the next level.

Limited to 16 candidates, the in-depth engagement with the master classes is invaluable thanks to its tailored status. Actors are also skilled to be versatile, confident and having more fun with their work. Equally key is the sharpening of the technique.

In the three hours per session, actors will also learn an efficient way of working. It alleviates stress from the pressure cooker that’s acting. Refuelling artistic self will therefore will be crucial.

Offered by two of the finest in this field, Masemola and Motshabi take pride in their collaboration with the Market theatre during its 45th anniversary celebration. Friends and partners on this empowering venture, both trained at the Laboratory, unleashing powerful and amazing careers.

The duo have dazzled on stage, television and film. Recently Masemola starred in Beyonce’s visual album, Black Is King which was released in 2020.

Motshabi’s reputation as a brilliant playwright, director, dramaturg, mentor and educator, precedes him.

Both are multi-award winning individuals they boast truckloads of awards from the best there is So their charges will be in excellent hands.

SINGER LAUNCHES NEW BOOK

Author and singer Susan Skhosana launched her brand new book Poko ‘a Sekwena, at the Kgabalatsane village in the North West. Gracing the occasion were guests from the Columbian embassy as well as the legendary singer and actress Abigail Kubheka. The Morolong Cultural Troupe entertained with their exotic dance.
