The charming Cape Winelands village of Franschhoek will once again be draped in red, white and blue when the Franschhoek Bastille Festival returns on July 11 and 12.

Now in its 34th year, the celebrated winter festival continues to honour the town’s French Huguenot roots while showcasing the world-class wine, food and hospitality that have made Franschhoek a global tourism and culinary destination.

Festivalgoers are encouraged to embrace the spirit of Bastille by dressing in the colours of the French flag as the village comes alive with wine tastings, gourmet experiences, music and street festivities.

Returning as title sponsor for a fourth consecutive year, Prescient Investment Management will again add excitement to the weekend with a competition offering one lucky attendee the chance to win R20 000 invested in a Prescient unit trust.

One of the festival’s signature attractions, Iconic Bastille, will feature curated wine and cheese tastings alongside live performances by Amy Jones, The Blend Theory and the popular Absolutely Fabulous duo. The always-colourful Best Dressed Competition is also set to return, rewarding guests who fully embrace the festival’s French-inspired elegance and flair.

Visitors looking for a more premium experience can opt for Uncorked Exclusive at Bastille, an intimate tasting event showcasing standout wines from participating estates. Beyond the tasting venues, Church Street will bustle with food stalls, roaming performers, themed activations and local market offerings as chefs and producers bring the village atmosphere to life.

Tickets for the festival are available through Webtickets, with prices starting from R450. More information on the programme and experiences is available at [Franschhoek Bastille Festival](https://franschhoekbastille.co.za/?utm_source=chatgpt.com).
