Two nights, four stages and a line-up spanning jazz’s roots and new directions brought the 27th Standard Bank Joy of Jazz to Sandton on September 25 and 26. Angélique Kidjo, Kamasi Washington and Thandiswa Mazwai were among the artists who gave festivalgoers plenty to celebrate—and photographers plenty to capture. It drew over 25,000 jazz fans, celebrating both traditional roots and future-facing jazz fusion. PHOTOS: Sipho Maluka
