Industrial pump and valve manufacturer KSB South Africa has joined Proudly South African, adding its voice to the campaign to support local manufacturing and job creation.

The company, part of the German KSB group, manufactures and assembles equipment at its Germiston facility. Its products are used in sectors including mining, energy, water and wastewater, petrochemicals and building services.

Proudly South African chief executive Eustace Mashimbye said KSB’s investment in local manufacturing aligned with the organisation’s ambition to build a more competitive industrial base.

“We are looking forward to working together to advance the localisation agenda and strengthen South Africa’s productive capacity,” he said.

KSB South Africa managing director Boris Werner said the membership reflected the company’s confidence in the future of local manufacturing.

“Through our local manufacturing operations, technical expertise and investment in skills, we aim to support the growth of the country’s industrial capabilities,” he said.

Werner said KSB looked forward to working with Proudly South African and its members to strengthen local supply chains, stimulate economic growth and create jobs.

KSB was represented in South Africa through accredited agents from the early 1900s before establishing a permanent local presence in 1959.

The company says it has nine branches across South Africa, in Cape Town, Durban, Nelspruit, Gqeberha, Secunda, Upington, Vereeniging, Richards Bay and Rustenburg. It also has operations in Nigeria, Kenya, Angola, Zambia and Namibia, providing sales and support services across sub-Saharan Africa.
