By Ali Mphaki

More than R5-million awaits each of the 23 players in the Banyana Banyana squad should they go on to win the FIFA Women’s World Cup currently being held in New Zealand and Australia.

After Banyana Banyana reached the knockout stages of the Women’s World Cup for the very first time in history, each of the 23 players in the squad is guaranteed R1.14 million ($60,000) from FIFA.

After FIFA pledged to make “a huge investment in women’s football” and have “guaranteed prize money for players” for the very first time in history. Banyana’s players, who were already guaranteed R572,000 ($30,000) from FIFA for participating in the tournament, will now get double that amount – in addition to the normal stipend they will receive from the South African Football Associations. Below is the player bonus money for the different stages, as per FIFA:

Group stage:       $30k (R572,000)

Round of 16:       $60k (R1.14 million)

Quarter Final:    $90k (R1.71 million)

4th place:             $165k (R3.14 million)

3rd place:             $180k (R3.43 million)

2nd place:            $195k (R3.71 million)

Winners:              $270k (R5.14 million)

Meanwhile, SAFA will also receive more money from FIFA, with the Round of 16 earning the federation R35.6 million ($1,870,000).

As things stand the Banyana players are now millionaires no matter how far they can go in the tournament. Inevitably, dating a rich woman does come with its fair share of challenges. For example, resentment can set in if one person pays all the time, Mairead Molloy, global director of elite matchmaking agency Berkeley International, headquartered in London, told Business Insider.

In their website Millionairematch, which prides itself of having “invented” millionaire dating, offers some helpful tips for dating rich women:

* Listen to her expectations and requirements: Dating a rich woman will always involve things like listening to her ideas and expectations. You want to know exactly what she has in mind and what she expects from you. Once that happens, it becomes easier to narrow down the approach you can use. Plus, you want to know what she expects, and then you can refine your dating process accordingly.

* Ignore the income gap: A good way to make rich women dating work is to ignore the income gap. Just enjoy the company and have fun. As long as you do that, things become a whole lot better. The truth is that you don’t want to obsess over the money, as it will just make the relationship way more difficult than it needs to be.

* Dress great and take good care of yourself: What you want to do when you are dating a rich woman is to always focus on grooming and looking great. Older women take a lot of pride in being with a well-looking young man. So you do want to look great, otherwise, it will end up not working very well for you. We think that great dating doesn’t have to be a challenge, but if you take good care of yourself it will certainly make dating a rich woman a lot easier.

* Be a gentleman: One of the best rules of thumb when it comes to rich women dating is to ensure that you are always a gentleman. You don’t have to be rich in order to stay a gentleman. What really matters is to show that you have what it takes, you appreciate a woman properly and you don’t rush into the experience and relationship. As soon as you do that, things will be a whole lot better and the older woman will appreciate you more than you think.

* Show her you are responsible: That is a bit tricky because a lot of younger men are not that responsible, to begin with. But the thing that really matters is to show that yes, you do have all the necessary responsibility to enter such a relationship. It will add a sense of maturity to your rich woman dating experience, and the best part is that it shows her you are very focused on making the relationship work. Showing signs of maturity and responsibility will certainly do the trick.

* Be creative and fun: A rich woman doesn’t date men that are boring and who lack creativity. They are already dealing with a challenging day-to-day life, so you do want to be creative and fun in order to keep her and yourself happy. Be unlike all the others and just focus on making the most out of this great opportunity.

As you can see, dating a rich woman has its own nuances, but also its challenges. Yet as long as you are prepared, focused, and never give up, the experience can be a very impressive one. Of course, it still has its own demanding situations and issues that can appear, but in the end, it’s all about having fun and making the relationship work. Do that, and you will appreciate the benefits and also how great the relationship will evolve in the long term!

A Sowetan embroidery  artist, Lerato Motau,  is geared to exhibit her work  next week Tuesday, 8th August until the 13th August at 13hrs to 21hrs at Just Badela  Food and Wine restaurant  to celebrate the Women’s Month and also promote art as an investment.

Motau 48, who lives in Vilakazi Street, Orlando West, says her work heals her as a person with a disability. “My work represents me as a person because  I am able to speak about my journey of dyslexia using visual perception as communication. No words but a story that speaks volumes in terms of how you look at the work, how it makes you feel – whether it could be a stitch or colour.

Her work separates paint into stitch. “ I communicated without words but each story I tell through embroidery speaks volumes in terms of how you look at the work, how it makes you feel whether it could be a stitch or colour’’.

She heals herself in terms of each and every stitch. “Each stitch represents my emotions and my healing and when I use my hands it becomes authentic. So, when I stitch it is like I am stitching my wounds’’.Motau says artwork represents her as a person who is dyslexic. She has no writing skills but likes to share her creativity and inspire anyone with a disability.

She has had two solo exhibitions and her work has featured in a number of group exhibitions. Internationally, she was represented in exhibitions that were shown in Beijing,

China, Australia, Canada, London, Switzerland, Australia and Finland.

Despite a major barrier of dyslexia, Motau obtained a Fine Arts and Teaching Diploma from the Johannesburg Art Foundation. “My work features in a number of corporate collections including Nandos UK, Absa, Pikit-Up, SA Breweries and Equity Africa in Johannesburg, First National Bank as well as DBSA Deotwana in Botswana’’.

Motau says public commissions include and embroidered  artwork for the Vaal Campus in the North-West University, a 17 meter Hand Embroidery at the Leonardo Hotel in Sandton, a BRT Station in Maraisburg, Johannesburg and a public artwork situated  in Vilakazi Street, Soweto.
