CWG WINE SHOWS
Two public wine tastings to offer wine lovers the opportunity to taste exclusive 2024 Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild (CWG) Auction wines will take place in Cape Town and Johannesburg in the next two weeks.
The first event – the Cape Town Auction Showcase – will be held on August 22 at Cape Town International Convention Centre and the Johannesburg edition will be hosted at the Nedbank Atrium in Sandton on August 28. Tickets costing R500 per person are available via Quicket. The two events are a forerunner to the annual CWG auction, where these wines will be up for grabs.
The wines, exclusively produced for auction by members of the CWG members, will go under the hammer at the annual event at the Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West on October 4 and 5.
The Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Auction showcases rare and unique wines produced in small quantities. The event is open to all who wish to experience the fun and excitement of the Auction at the Lord Charles Hotel in person.
GRANGEHURST DINNER
Grangehurst winemaker Jeremy Walker will host a three-course dinner at Johannesburg’s Café Dolci on August 20.
Walker will partner with chef Jackie Righi-Boyd in a pairing of food and five wines from the prestigious Cape winelands farm, all to be enjoyed over anecdotes to be shared by both hosts. Established by proprietor-cum-winemaker Walker in 1992, the winery primarily focuses on producing handcrafted red wines and a dry rosé, all made using traditional winemaking practices.
Years of experience and passion has enabled the farm to produce wines of the highest quality that can mature for long periods.
The boutique wine cellar is situated on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain in Stellenbosch.
Café Dolci is situated on Clarence Avenue, Craighall Park. Tickets cost R720 (including the tip).
The event starts at 18h30pm. Booking via
