The Transport Education and Training Authority, TETA, in demonstrating its commitment to youth empowerment has partnered with Empowaworx for the Free State summit edition of Empowayouth taking place  from next week September 26 to 28, in Thaba Nchu.

The highly anticipated event will bring together 1, 500 young individuals in what is expected to be a transformative three-day experience featuring 100 esteemed speakers and a diverse array of workshops and discussions across key industries such as transport, energy, agriculture, and more.

Following the Free State summit, TETA and Empowawarx will extend their collaboration to Cape Town, between  October 28 and 28, where they will host the western Cape summit edition, mirroring the successful programme of the Free State event.

In their quest to championing  the cause of youth and women empowerment, TETA is fresh off a recent successful collaboration with Empowawomen Leadership summit, which celebrated the achievements of 1,000 women across various industries, a landmark event  that featured a full day of masterclasses, panel discussions, networking, and mentorship specifically tailored to empower women in the male dominated transport industry.

As a testament to TETA’s leadership and commitment, Maphefo Anno-Frempong, CEO of TETA, was honoured with Lift as You Rise award, in recognition of her transformative role and spirit of uplifting others within the industry.

In accepting the honour, Anno-Frempong  said the partnership with Empowawomen and Empowayouth reflect  TETA’s dedication to creating inclusive environments that empower  women and youth alike.  “By focusing on these demographics, we are not only enhancing the transport sector but also contributing to broader societal transformation,” she said.

Dumisile Le Roux, acting GM of Empowawarx and head of Empowayouth, highlighted the importance  of these collaborations.

“Our partnerships with TETA is a prime example of how strategic alliancces can drive meaningful impact. By working together, we are creating invaluable opportunities for women and youth to gain essential skills, access mentorship, and pursue their aspirations. These inityiatives are vital in bridging gaps and fostering sustainable growth in both the transport sector and the broader economy,” she said.

In addition to its successful partnership with EMpowawomen, TETA is set to celebrate National Transport month alongside EMpowawomen’s Women in Transport summit scheduled for Nelspruit on October 30.  The summit  will offer a day packed  with insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and workshops aimed at inspiring women across the transport value chain.
