MASS WEDDING VOWS – ONE CEREMONY

The International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC) headquarters situated in Zuurbekom, south west of Johannesburg, recently hosted the church’s famous tri-annual mass weddings, where dozens to thousands of couples marry or formalise their unions simultaneously. The church has practised these mass ceremonies for over six decades, dating back to 1962 while under the late founder Frederick Modise. The ceremonies occur three times each year: on Easter Sunday, the first Sunday of September (the church’s New Year), and during the Christmas weekend in December. PHOTO: Veli Nhlapo
