By Ali Mphaki
When it comes to the safety of our learners, there is no compromise.

All means must be employed to ensure they learn in a safe and conducive environment.
These were the words of renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist Keith Nkuna at the signing of a donation partnership between his Oldclay Foundation and security outfit ArmRite at their offices on Thursday.
The deal ensures ArmRite will provide 24-hour protective services at several schools adopted by Oldclay Foundation in Soweto, beginning with the all-girls Letsibogo Secondary in Meadowlands.
ArmRite is a 100 percent-owned company dedicated to. bridging the security gap in our communities.
Formed in 2010 under the visionary leadership of Raymond Matji, ArmRite provides top-tier security services tailored to the needs of their residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
ArmRite has also been working closely with the Gauteng education department, providing security services to over 10 high-risk schools, including intervening in learner/student unrest and hostage situations.
The company is also responsible for security matters at several shopping centres such as Tshepiso in the Vaal, Glen ridge, Zandspruit, Honeydew, and the Broll Property Group.
ArmRite founder and CEO Matji said it was no brainer for his company to partner with Oldclay Foundation
Matji said they align themselves with the foundation’s vision, mission, and values, adding that they are interested in exploring partnerships and collaborations and donate security services to schools across the Gauteng province starting with Letsibogo in Meadowlands.
Oldclay chairman Keith Nkuna adds that they were excited about the partnership with a credible black-owned outfit such as ArmRite.
He said that with several planned building additions at Letsibogo, such as a Potters Voice and a media centre, security was vital.
He said the presence of ArmRite security personnel at the school will also help in preserving and fostering discipline and respect.
“Oldclay is not a reactive Foundation. We are active and progressive in our approach. We want to tackle the challenges confronting us as a society head-on,’ said Nkuna.
By adopting several public schools under his foundation, Nkuna is on a mission to introduce his Isintu Sethu Academies – mainstream schools that integrate modern education with cultural traditions.
The rationale behind this initiative is to assist young learners reconnect with their cultural traditions.
Confronted with so many social ills. among them, broken families, GBV, violence at schools, lack of respect for teachers, bullying, etc. Nkuna’s foundation believes with the right interventions such as providing learners with a safe environment can only yield positive results .
Learners at Letsibogo were equally excited about the ArmRite donation partnership, more so since theirs was a no fee all-girls school.
As from Monday, there will be an ArmRite vehicle stationed at the school premises during working hours.
Adding to the security arrangements is that there will be another ArmRite vehicle patrolling the school vicinity intermittently.
