The FIFA World Cup 2026™ will conclude in spectacular fashion on Sunday with a star-studded closing ceremony at New York New Jersey Stadium, bringing together music, entertainment and football in a celebration of what has been the biggest World Cup in history.
The ceremony, beginning at 13:30 local time—90 minutes before kick-off of the final—will honour the remarkable journey of the tournament’s 48 participating nations across three host countries and 16 host cities in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Award-winning American singer and actress Jennifer Hudson will deliver a stirring rendition of the United States national anthem before football’s biggest match, setting the stage for the crowning of the new world champions.
The entertainment programme features an impressive line-up of international stars, including Robbie Williams, Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger and internet sensation IShowSpeed, while Hollywood icon Tom Cruise will make a special appearance.
Produced in partnership with Balich Wonder Studio, the ceremony promises to blend music, culture and football into a fitting finale for a tournament that expanded the World Cup to 48 teams for the first time and captivated audiences around the globe. FIFA says the show will celebrate the passion, unity and emotion that have defined the month-long spectacle while inspiring a new generation of young footballers.
“Echoing the spirit of the opening ceremonies, which welcomed the world to the greatest stage in Canada, Mexico and the United States, the closing ceremony will bring the FIFA World Cup 2026 full circle through music, culture and football, before we kick off the highly anticipated match that will crown the champions of this groundbreaking tournament,” said FIFA World Cup 2026 Chief Operating Officer Heimo Schirgi.
Supporters attending the final have been encouraged to arrive early to take part in the festivities. Stadium gates will open four hours before kick-off, offering fans exclusive activations, entertainment and interactive experiences ahead of the ceremony.
The celebration will provide a fitting farewell to a World Cup that has broken attendance and commercial records, expanded football’s global reach and delivered unforgettable moments on and off the pitch, before the world turns its attention to the final 90 minutes that will decide the 2026 FIFA World Cup champions.
